Sharon Peters
Sharon Peters has been a newspaper journalist for 30 years, and an animal lover for longer than that.
Sharon grew up in Maine where she had a white horse named Snow Queen and a massive black-and-white border collie mix improbably named Tippy. The three of them spent many summers exploring the fields and woods of central Maine with other farm kids lucky enough to have a horse or pony.
A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism who has worked for newspapers in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio, Washington, D.C., Kentucky and Colorado as a reporter or editor, she has specialized in a variety of topics, from education to fashion to social trends. In recent months she has written pet stories for USA Today and AARP Bulletin.
She lives in Colorado Springs with two rescued dogs, Jasper and Rufus, and a cat named Gus.
